Opening up boosts China's Film Industry

Opening up helps the world better understand China and materializes cooperation

Regarding China’s forty years of reform and opening up, Ms. Sheehan said, “My mother came here in 1979, 40 years ago, as part of China’s opening up. She came with a teacher’s union delegation and traveled all over China. Today, the reform and opening up has allowed more opportunities for me to connect with Chinese screen, Chinese culture and Chinese people and for people all over the world to know more about China. China and New Zealand signed China’s first-ever television co-production agreement in November 2014, complementing our existing film co-production agreement signed in 2010. I wish this kind of cooperation will continue along with the further reform and opening up in China.
